“M/V Hispania Graeca II – Commemorative Scarf Naming & Delivery Ceremony“
This limited edition commemorative scarf, printed in only ninety-nine (99) numbered copies, was offered by Angelakos (Hellas) S.A. on the occasion of the Naming & Delivery Ceremony of M/V Hispania Graeca II, constructed at NACKS Shipyard, China. More than a ceremonial keepsake, this scarf is a symbolic bridge, celebrating Greek maritime legacy, uniting Greece, Spain, and China through themes of maritime heritage, cultural exchange, and international cooperation.
At its centre is displayed an artwork from a Greek kylix (wine drinking cup) of the early 5th century B.C., where Heracles sails the Ocean on board the “Golden Cup of the Sun” to reach Spain. Around this composition are the Hesperides, while at the corners is the Tharsis Mask, with the border bearing inscriptions in Greek Linear B, Chinese, and Latin.
This scarf was designed in collaboration with the creative team of Angelakos (Hellas) S.A. and is offered with gratitude to the ship’s Godmother, to their partners in China, and to all who honour the maritime traditions of Greece and Spain.
